West Yorkshire Paths

West Yorkshire PATHS is a specialist NHS service supporting women and birthing people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties following birth trauma, pregnancy or baby loss, or traumatic maternity experiences.

Support is available for people living in Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford District and Craven, Kirklees and Calderdale.

Opening times

  • Monday - Friday : 9:00 am - 5:00 am

Age range

This service is for women and birthing people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties related to:

• Birth trauma or traumatic maternity care.
• Pregnancy or baby loss (including fertility treatment loss).
• Severe fear of childbirth.

Key support offer

• Specialist psychological therapy.
• Support from experienced therapists, psychologists and midwives.
• Help following birth trauma or traumatic maternity care.
• Support after pregnancy loss, baby loss or fertility-related loss.
• Help for severe fear of childbirth.
• Individual and group support.
• Appointments available online, in clinics, community settings or at home where needed.

The service aims to offer an initial assessment within 4–6 weeks of receiving a referral. Waiting times for therapy may vary depending on demand.
