The Wakefield early intervention in psychosis team supports the early identification of psychosis in people aged 14 to 65.
The team offers support for those experiencing a first episode psychosis in ages 14 to 65 and those who may be at risk of psychosis (ARMS) in the ages of 14 to 35.
The team provides psychosocial interventions (treating and preventing a condition using educational and behavioural approaches) to improve the long-term outcomes for people experiencing psychosis. The team support people’s treatment and recovery outside of the mainstream mental health system.
• First Episode Psychosis: Ages 14–65.

Appointments can be offered at home or in accessible clinics. Interpreter services, text, email and video appointments are available where needed.
The team aims to complete an assessment and allocate support within 14 days of receiving a referral.
Self-referral or professional referral.
The team works closely with GPs, Turning Point, Wakefield Council, SPA and other specialist mental health teams.
Following your assessment, the team will help you access other services that best meet your needs.
